About Us How We Started
Oxford Gives Back is an organization affiliated with the Oxford School District that provides a free spring clean-up service to Oxford area locals in need. The project is centered around youth involvement and encourages high school aged students to participate in planning the annual event. Students are empowered with critical communication and organizational skills that prepare them to make a difference and give back to their own community. The Spring-cleanup event brings together local businesses, groups, community members and students to selflessly serve their neighbors in need. Oxford Gives Back has been declared a tradition in its home town of Oxford, Michigan.

Oxford Gives Back debuted it's first event in the Spring of 2016. After Oxford Schools Early College student Jacinta Hogan expressed her interest in initiating an effort to assist local elderly with their yardwork, the students and staff of Oxford Schools stepped up to create a weekend of service. After only 2 months of planning, Oxford Gives Back was born. In total, the 2016 project assisted over 30 homeowners with the help of over 40 staff members and 350 students and community members.
The event's positive impact on the community led the project to be declared an Oxford tradition and has since grown to affect the lives of more and more community members each year. |
Our Goals
Our goal is to grow Oxford Gives Back so that it can effectively serve every community member in need of yard beautification and home repairs. Our vision is to continue to provide a free, community led service project that will inspire hope in the coming generations.
